When I spotted this Dispatch headline, I have to admit that I chuckled a bit. I use 315 fairly regularly myself, but “Nightmare”? Isn’t that a bit much? I thought a nightmare was when you’re being chased through an abandoned factory by an angry naked chainsaw-weilding clown? Suffering for a year with a couple of closed ramps along 315 and a bit of added traffic congestion is hardly what I’d call a nightmare.
Anyway, after seeing the map that the Dispatch included with this story I was reminded of a similar map that I created a year ago to show someone the potential of a light rail shuttle that runs parallel to 315 through what is dubbed as the “315 Tech Corridor“:
I’m going to do my best not to spend too much time preaching the benefits of rail at the moment, but just wanted to bring this back up as food for thought for anyone stuck in traffic on 315 for the next 12 months as the cars crawl along at 5 miles per hour.
