Three times a year COTA changes their schedule. For May the new schedule has been posted… Here is the pdf brochure. Changes take effect Monday May 5th. And COTA’s summary:
For May 2008, COTA is making changes to 13 local routes, 8 express routes and 2 crosstown routes. These changes involve modified travel times to improve service reliability, improved frequency of service, extending the span of service, and/or route realignments to enhance service.
Maybe I am just on an anti-COTA kick, but I wasn’t impressed with the schedule changes. Is that what the levy money is funding? Granted, I only regularly ride 4 lines, and at most I ride about 6. So maybe I was just unlucky. What are you all’s thoughts about the changes?
I’m especially curious what OSU students think. Students pay $9 per quarter, and in exchange get to ride COTA for free by showing their BUCK ID. ($13.50 a semester for professional students.) I think this is a great deal, but at the same time, OSU students should get good service. In my opinion their service could be much better. (I’m thinking specifically of the # 18.) I think OSU should negotiate with COTA for better service for their students. Because these fees are charged to every enrolled student, COTA gets a HUGE pot of money from OSU every quarter.
