THE COLUMBUS DISPATCH
New Yorkers flying in to Port Columbus might be looking forward to the less-expensive ways of the Midwest — until they climb into a taxicab.
Cab fares in Columbus are higher than in New York City, at least during nonpeak hours. A 5-mile trip in New York, factoring in a five-minute wait, costs $14.50. Here, the same trip costs $14.90 plus the 6.75 percent Ohio sales tax.
