“Panel pushes streetcar project” The Cincinnati Post
Posted by Paul Bonneville on October 18, 2007
At the end of the day, my new starting point for any conversation that discusses why we should do anything downtown and the surrounding urban neighborhoods, I start from the key statistic that is both irrefutable and quite eye opening: The Central Business District (CBD) of downtown Columbus is only 1% of all of the city’s land mass. That 1% of the land mass is bringing in 13% of the city’s income tax base. (that 13% is a couple years old and it may actually be higher)
So why is downtown important?
