Local scooter enthusiast blog, Scooter Fan, has a running countdown to Scoot-A-Que 2007 going on. The event is going on all weekend, but the highlight has to be on Saturday where the event will intertwine with the North Market Microbrew Festival. Scooters and beer (in that order)! How could that not be fun?
According to the site…
Scoot-A-Que is the local scooter rally put on by the Columbus Cutters. I am not officially a Cutter, but I want to spread the word about the event. This is an annual event, and this is the 10th year! Sept. 14-16.
If you have a scooter, you should go – register today! If you are curious about scooters, then you should go to at least one of the events and see all the scooters. People are riding here from as far away as Salem Virginia (yes she’s riding in on her scooter), then all us local Columbus people should go.
Apparently we need to add a “Scooter X-ing” category.

That article was a little dissapointing. It’s trying to create drama (vintage vespas vs. everyone else) where there really isn’t any. At least not any worth writing about!
On the other hand, I guess it’s good it mentioned Scoot-A-Que is this weekend. Scoot-A-Que is open to all types of scooters.
The media will always try to create controversy where it doesn’t exist. If it doesn’t sell, it isn’t news.
Savvy folk will create their own controversy in talking to the media to prevent them from creating their own.
I think the Other Paper is worse about playing up the controversy than other local media.
