If you heart transit, you can let the American Public Transportation Association know by texting TRANSIT to 86677. It will text you back with instructions to sign their petition. So really you can just skip that texting step if you want and go straight to the petition.
I <3 transit (I heart transit) is a public education initiative that seeks to recruit public transportation supporters via a mobile text messaging campaign to drive signatures to the APTA public transportation petition, as well as build upon our grassroots base of support. These transit advocates will serve as a valuable resource as we move forward in our drive to encourage Congress to pass a long-term surface transportation bill. These transit advocates will serve as a valuable resource as we move forward in our drive to encourage Congress to pass a long-term surface transportation bill.
How does i<3 transit work?
It’s simple. Your employees, riders and advocates can show their support by texting TRANSIT to 86677. Once the text is recieved they will recieve a message instructing them how they can further support public transit, and the expansion of public transportation options. These instructions will include web links to the petition, and various other websites.

I guess the short answer is “no”.
I am a big supporter of public transportation and firmly believe that Ohio is woefully behind in both existing projects and future plans. That said, having clicked though to the petition, I do non sign “blank checks” to anyone. And anytime someone talks about the federal government “investing” in anything I reach for my wallet to make sure no one else has their hand on it.
Instead of pie-in-the-sky platitudes (which play into the hands of transit opponents) how about something concrete and defendable. Say, a steady revenue stream from gasoline taxes for Amtrak.
