Logistics & TransportationThe Ohio Transportation Review Advisory Council voted Tuesday to eliminate $51.8 million in funding for Cincinnati’s proposed streetcar project.
The council voted 6-1 in favor of pulling the funding. Toni Selvey-Maddox, a Cincinnati representative on the board, voted to keep funding in place.
The move follows a March staff report that recommended the agency withdraw that funding, which included a $15 million Cincinnati streetcar grant endorsed by the state council in 2009, an additional $35 million that won preliminary approval in December and a $1.8 million grant for preliminary engineering of an uptown streetcar link.
