Inrix, a provider of traffic and navigation services, has released its 2009 “national traffic scorecard.” Columbus was just the 55th most congested region, even though it’s the 32nd most populous region. The average driver with a 30-minute commute spent only 6.4 hours per year stuck in traffic. The biggest bottleneck in town was I-71 NB on the innerbelt. Click on the image below for more info:

That’s really not that bad. We should probably put a halt to all road widening projects, eh?
I’m not anti-road. I’m just more “complete streets.” Sometimes a widening is an opportunity to add sidewalks, bike lanes, etc…
