The Create Columbus Commission is hosting a Bar Hop/Crawl this Friday night to raise awareness about the new COTA late-night #21 bus route that runs up and down High Street.
Join us for some drinks, and safely ride from stop to stop along the route. We’re starting at Barrio at 8pm and will be providing updates on our stops along the way (via twitter, facebook, CU, etc) so that folks can join us at any point along the trip.
Event info can be found on Facebook HERE.
More info about COTA’s #21 Route can be found HERE.
Anyone game for checking this out?

I think this is a really cool way to promote the service. Kudos to the CCC.
I forgot to add a little follow up to say how it went:
Everyone who attended seemed to be having a really good time. It was pretty entertaining to ride the bus with a group of 20 people who rarely (if ever) ride it. All of their questions and uncertainties… really makes you realize how intimidating bus riding can be if you never do it. Hopefully we landed a few converts in the process. Everyone kept saying how easy it was to catch.
It sounds like some other groups are planning similar types of events. I’ll share more info as I find out the details.
Assuming you can remember, maybe a post answering the most frequently asked questions about riding would be useful?
so, i just found a COTA brochure from I think the 1950s that had their night bus schedule on it. It had a picture of an owl. Kinda funny how we’re coming back to it.
Cool fun fact. Where did you find the brochure? I’m going to assume you work at COTA and have been digging through the archives.
no no no…i wish…would be cool…would love to go through their archives (they have archives?)…but no
even better…its online.

@cbus transit: thank you sharing the history! i plan to visit the arcadia site in person sometime. and i wondered what was going on with the bricks on Mohawk and on Pennsylvania. i never realized there were streetcars in Columbus in the past.
