Go to this Columbus Underground thread and post your detailed suggestion for bike rack locations. Since Mayor Coleman is asking for suggestions, it will have to be within City of Columbus city limits. From Walker’s post:
Advice is needed specifically for areas in and around Downtown, including the Short North, the University District, Brewery District, Near East Side, and Franklinton.
I hope these get installed quickly, it is great to see public suggestions are being taken. (hat tip to Walker Evans.)
I do not understand when websites make it so difficult to participate. I really want to post some spots to this CUsite but it takes 24hrs to get an account. just not very friendly.
Hi there! I’m the admin of ColumbusUnderground and the reason it takes so long is due to the fact that we screen the usernames by hand. We get dozens (sometimes hundreds) of spam/porn bots signing up per day and there’s really no good filter for our software we’re using. That will be solved soon with an upgrade, but for now we require a little bit of patience.
I know 24 hours is an eternity online, but we also consider it a “waiting period”. If people come to our site to post nasty rants, generally they’ve calmed down a bit after 24 hours.
