We previously mentioned the bike sharing program at OSU this week. Here is a video about it, posted from the Lantern website. (This was not originally posted on the Lantern page when the article first came out.) As I said in the comments before, you need valid rec sports membership. (Students enrolled in classes automatically have memberships.) If you’re jonesing for some bike-sharing, you could run out and buy your RPAC membership.
Now the real news. Another option if you want to ride a bike but don’t have one to ride… Metro Columbus finally has bike rental. (I first read this on Consider Biking, so hat tip to Meredith!) The prices start at $25 for a half day, although there are some discounts available. Read more at Handy Bikes.

Very cool! Biking is a great way to see a city, especially if you’re a visitor. Glad to see we’re giving people more options to check out the town.
That’s cool, but what a terrible price point. You could rent a car or take a bus for significantly less money.
The City of Columbus is getting in on the act. Thanks to Councilwoman O’Shaughnessy, employees can now take one of ten city bikes between offices:

I spotted one of these new bikes at the North Market on Thursday.
